"Sunflowers and Sunshine”

Recently, I had the joy of creating a piece that bloomed straight from my heart—a vase of sunflowers, inspired by a golden afternoon hike in the breathtaking Colorado landscape.

With all the enthusiasm of a seasoned trail companion my husband and I set out on one of our favorite trails. As we rounded a bend, we were greeted by a radiant field of sunflowers—hundreds of them, all turned toward the light, faces lifted to the sun like they were offering up a silent hallelujah.

It was a moment that stopped us in our tracks. There was something sacred in the way those sunflowers stood so confidently, each one in perfect harmony with the others, glowing in the warmth of the summer sun. God's palette was on full display—bold yellows, deep greens, a bright sky overhead—it was beauty unfiltered.

When we returned home, I knew I had to create a new glass art piece. Not the field itself, but the feeling of it. The joy. The praise. The quiet awe. The vase of sunflowers that emerged from that inspiration full of life, reaching for the light—just like the ones we saw that day.

This piece reminds me of how creation reflects the Creator. Sometimes, art is just a whisper of gratitude captured in color. And this time, it’s a golden whisper in bloom.

Until next time—keep looking toward the light. 🌻
