Every Household Needs a Pineapple! 🍍
Who knew this spiky little fruit had such a sweet story? Native to the Amazon rainforest and domesticated by Indigenous peoples, the pineapple eventually became a prized luxury in Europe. It was so precious that people even rented pineapples for an evening just to impress their dinner guests!
As the story goes, sea captains in colonial New England returning from Caribbean trade routes would place a fresh pineapple on their front gatepost or fence—a cheerful signal that they were home and ready to welcome visitors. Over time, pineapple motifs appeared on doorways, gateposts, and home décor as symbols of warmth and hospitality.

That delightful tradition inspired my pineapple glass art piece for CrackNCreate—a little sparkle and a sweet reminder to make others feel at home.
Every household needs a pineapple—especially one that never needs slicing! 💛
