Long ago in England - Abbey, the golden pup, a spark that lit a friendship.

Long ago in England, our paths entwined—Abbey, the golden pup, the spark that lit a friendship. Through passing years and staying in touch, a friendship has only deepened. Meeting Hermann, Judith's Leonsberger, was like meeting love wrapped in the frame of a gentle giant. Someday, may the Colorado mountains will call you westward Judith, where memory and friendship run free across the skies.

A Golden Beginning

Over thirty years have flown, From Abbey, the golden pup we’d known. A wagging tail, a gentle start, Became a friendship close to heart.

Who’d have guessed at that first meet, Through dog club rings and puppy feet, That ties would grow so strong, so true, All these years, from me to you.

Our luncheon time was pure delight, shared gifts a shining light—Each one a treasure, sweet and new.

And Hermann came, so calm, so tall, A gentle giant who charmed us all. His steady gaze, his noble grace, A softer soul in a larger space.

So may the mountains call your name, And perhaps a visit to Colorado stake its claim. For friendship’s thread is woven long, Like loyal dogs, it runs so strong.
