Sometimes, an idea swims into my mind before I even know how it will take shape. That was the case with this little mermaid—a vision that started as a sketch and slowly came to life through pieces of upcycled glass.

I began my treasure hunt, searching for the perfect shimmering blues and sea greens, sifting through second-hand vases and forgotten glassware. Each piece had a story, and together, they would create something entirely new.

With a canvas as my ocean, I carefully arranged and layered the glass, shaping her flowing hair, delicate fins, and graceful form. Bit by bit, the mermaid emerged from the waves, sparkling with the magic of transformation.

Creating art this way feels like discovering hidden beauty, much like finding a mermaid in the sea—it’s all about seeing beyond the brokenness and bringing a vision to life.
